Imitating Christ - #34

If we would overcome one fault a year we would soon be perfect! But often we find that we were better and purer when we first turned to God than after years supposedly spent in His service.  Actually, our fervor and desire for virtue should increase every day as we grow older.

But now it is considered wonderful if we still hold on to the spark of our first fervor.  It is far easier to break evil habits at the outset, for then acts of virtue are done more readily and with a happy heart.

Amen, Pastor it is wonderful and full of Glory to hold on to your first fervor. I made a vow to stay on fire for the Lord. I have been saved for many years and He has allowed me to go from glory to glory... and has enabled me by His precious Holy Spirit to stay on fire for the things of God. My life have been transformed I once was a barren woman(in the world) and now I am a woman with many children(in the kingdom of God) God told me to "Sing, O barren woman you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband..." Truly acts of virtue are done more readily and with a happy heart. :)
