Imitating Christ - #22

If a man gives in to himself, then he sufferes remorse of consience becaue he has yielded to temptation and does not find the peace of mind he desires.  We find our peace only by resisting our passions, not by giving in to them.  Peace is in the heart of the devout and fervent man, not in the one who is carnal and gives himself to outward things.
